Some of my family’s favorite Christmas traditions involve holiday ornaments. Since each of my kids were born, I’ve given them a special ornament each year with their names and the date on them.
When they leave the house, they have enough ornaments begin to decorate their own tree, each ornament holding a dear memory.
Another thing we do is have a handmade ornament exchange at Christmas with my sisters and their families. Each family makes four of the same handmade ornaments to give to each sister’s family. And we all get four different ornaments from our siblings’ families.
My favorite is the pasta covid angel made by my brother-in-law. She is complete with a blue mask and totally made of pasta and glue!
Making Christmas decorations with the kids when they were little was a true joy. Nothing looks sweeter on the tree than a homemade Christmas ornament made by a child. Those definitely become holiday favorites!
