how to make the bead garland Christmas ornament
STEP 1: GARLAND PREPARATION
The first thing you need to do is cut the strand of beads into smaller pieces. This will make it easier to put the bead garland into the round plastic ornament.
STEP 2: REMOVE CAP
Next, remove the silver cap from the ornament. To remove the cap, gently pull the cap off the ornament.
STEP 3: FILL ORNAMENT
Begin filling the ornament with the pieces of bead garland through the opening. If small children are making this ornament, the simple activity of filling the ornament helps to develop fine motor skills and promotes eye and hand coordination.
You can fill the ornament halfway or all the way to the top. Put as much bead garland in the ornament as you wish.
STEP 4: REPLACE CAP
Replace the silver cap onto the ornament. To do this gently squeeze the two prongs together and insert them into the opening.
STEP 5: Ribbon
With some ribbon make a small bow and hot glue it to the neck of the ornament.
The ornament is complete and ready to hang on the tree.
How proud your child will be to hang their handmade ornament on the tree or give as a gift to grandparents or their teacher.
In addition to bead garland, you can fill clear ornaments with anything that will fit through the opening. You can use ribbon, sand, tinsel, fake snow, pom-poms, money, sprigs of greenery, buttons, sequins, or candy. The possibilities are endless.
