Besides being just fun, it is physically,  mentally, and educationally beneficial.  Slime can help relieve stress and anxiety, can help with eye and hand coordination, can build hand muscles, can build fine motor skills and can teach kids a science lesson.  It can be helpful for kids with ADHD or SPD.
