18 inch Doll No-Sew Blanket or Afghan Tutorial

Winter is here! Even your 18-inch doll needs a blanket to keep cozy and warm.
Learn how to make a no-sew afghan or blanket for an 18” doll by watching this video and reading on for step-by-step instructions.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

• 2 pieces of fabric 18” x 20” to 22”
• Scissor

NOTE ABOUT FABRIC: The best type of fabric for this project is fleece or flannel. You will need a ½ yard to make one blanket with the same design on both sides. Or if you want the blanket with two different fabrics, you will have to purchase 1/2 yard of each fabric and you can make 2 blankets.

INSTRUCTIONS for the no-sew doll blanket:

STEP 1:
From the fleece or flannel fabric, cut two pieces 18" x 20" or 18" x 22".

STEP 2:
Place the two pieces of fabric with wrong sides together making sure the outside edges are even all the way around.

STEP 3:
With the scissor, cut a 2” x 2” square from each corner.

STEP 4:
Cut slits around all four outside edges 2” long and about ½” apart.

STEP 5:
Pick up two corresponding pieces, one from the front and one from the back, and tie a knot. Continue doing this all the way around the blanket.

The blanket is done and ready to keep your 18" doll warm.
