Holiday Crocheted Dish Towel Pattern - Snowman, Santa & Gingerbread Man

Towels are one of my favorite holiday gifts.  There are so many types of cute towels that can be made quickly.  When I found these free towel patterns by "A Crocheted Simplicity", I knew I had to make them!

I have crocheted three towels, Santa, Snowman, and Gingerbread Man. A link to these free crochet patterns is at the end of this page.  

Even though these towels appear complicated, they are easy to make.  

Once you make one of these towels, you will be addicted!  Most of the towels follow a similar half circle design for the head which is made with increasing single crochet stitches. The body of the towel is then stitched with single crochet and double crochet combinations.

There are no fancy stitches required and the free crochet pattern is very descriptive including photos to help you through the process.

For these towels, the eyes and buttons can be crocheted and stitched to the towel or buttons and black craft eyes can be used. I like the look of the buttons and craft eyes for my towels.

These towels will hang on a towel rod and not fall because they are looped around the bar. To hang the towel hold it in front of the towel bar with the body of the towel facing the front.  Wrap the towel around the bar from back to front and loop through the opening.

• Lily Sugar n' Cream Cotton yarn (various colors listed in each free crochet pattern)

Snowman crochet dish towel

The snowman towel below was the first towel I crocheted.  This towel uses scraps of yarn in black, orange, red, and green.  The main body of the towel is stitched in white cotton yarn.

The eyes can be small crochet stitch circles or black craft eyes.  For this first towel, I picked small green buttons from my button box.  These buttons were probably too small for this towel, so the next towels I made used larger buttons.

This first one is also missing the red scarf.  Feel free to play with the button, hat, and scarf colors!  This project is a good way to use up some of those yarn scraps.

Below is a later one I made with larger black buttons and the red scarf.  For future towels, I may change the scarf and hat band colors.

Gingerbread Man Crochet Dish Towel

The gingerbread man crochet dish towel is made with a Jute (brown) color cotton yarn for the body and head of the towel.  The towel has a white ric-rac trim near the bottom of the towel and a white edging around the head.

Crochet Red cheeks, black craft eyes and large red buttons embellish this cute towel.

Santa Crochet Kitchen Towel

The Santa towel is super cute with his little Santa hat, crocheted beard, and button eyes.  He even has his trademark belt with a yellow buckle.

This towel uses mostly red cotton yarn for the body of the towel, soft ecru for the head and small amounts of white, yellow and black.
