  • ½ yard of fleece fabric which is 58” to 60” wide
  • Needle and Thread
  • Ruler
  • Scissor or Rotary Cutter
  • Sewing Machine
  • Basic Sewing Skills

Sometimes fabric store do not cut the fabric straight. So, the first step is to cut the fabric about 18" wide. Also, cut off the salvage.


Fold and pin the fabric in half, lining up the long sides, right sides together.

Fleece Infinity Scarf Tutorial - Sewing Sides Together With the sewing machine, sew the long side together using a 1/2" seam allowance. Reinforce the beginning and ending stitches by backtacking. Backtacking is stitching a few stitches forward, then stitch backward a few stitch and then begin stitching forward again.
The scarf is now a long tube of fabric.


Fleece Infinity Scarf Tutorial - Press Seam Open Lay the scarf on the ironing board with the seam in the middle of the tube. With an iron, press the seam open.

Once the seam is pressed open, turn the fabric tube right side facing out.

Fleece Infinity Scarf Tutorial - Pull One End Pull one end of the the scarf all the way up to the other end. Do not twist the fabric as you pull. The seams should be aligned on top of each other. Neatly align the edges of the short ends with right sides together. Pin all the way around the circle.

Fleece Infinity Scarf Tutorial - Sew Opening Take the pinned ends to the sewing machine and stitch around the circle using a 1/2" seam, leaving a 4 or 5 inch opening. This opening will be used to turn the scarf right side out.


It is time to turn the scarf right side out. Reach into the opening and begin pulling the fabric out through the opening. Continue pulling until the scarf is entirely out.
