This Bernina foot pedal features the needle up/down positioner. By pressing the heel of the foot pedal the needle can go up or down into the fabric.

With this foot pedal you do not have to push a button or turn the sewing machine wheel to put the needle down or up. It allows you to keep your hands on the fabric as you sew.
