This origami tank is easy to make. To make a paper tank, you will need a half sheet of paper. And another smaller piece of paper for the tube. Start with a piece of construction paper or other 8.5" x 11" paper.
To get the half sheet of paper, fold the paper in half lengthwise. Then cut the paper in half along the fold.
Step 1: Fold the top corner down as shown. Open the fold.
Step 2: Fold the other top corner down as shown. Open the fold.
Step 3: You will see you now have folds marking an 'X'.
Step 4: Bring the sides of the paper together as shown to form a funnel and it will fold on the side folds.
Step 5: Push the top down to form a triangle.
Step 6: Fold the two flaps up on the sides of the triangle as shown. See photo below also.
Step 7: Turn the paper around and repeat steps 1 - 5 on the other side of the paper. You will end up with a paper looking like the photo above.
Step 8: Fold the side in to the center.
Step 9: Fold the other side into the center. It should look like the photo above.
Step 10: Turn the paper over. Then fold up the side with the extra folds to the back.
Step 11: Lift up those flaps. Then fold the other folded triange end of the paper down.
Step 12: Lift up the triangles and put the flaps underneath.
Step 13: Put the triangles back in place over the small flaps.
Step 14: Tuck in the triangles into the sides of the tank.
See the photo below.
Step 15: Take the smaller piece of paper and make a tube. Tape it together. See photo below.
Step 16: Take another piece of tape and put one end inside the tube. Use the other end to tape the tube in place on top of the tank.
Your paper tank is complete!
