The double cross stitch or Smyrna stitch is a textured stitch and is an excellent stitch to use as a filler on a project.

Watch this video for simple to understand instruction.

TO MAKE THE STITCH:

1. Stitch a standard cross stitch using an odd number of plastic canvas spaces.
2. Then stitch a upright cross stitch directly over it using the middle spaces at sides and top.
