How to make a winter wreath

STEP 1: Preparing Wreath

Snow Covered Winter Wreath Tutorial - Fluff WreathYour wreath may be a bit flat, so you will need to fluff up the branches to make the wreath have a fuller appearance.  To do this, gently pull each wire branch straight in varying directions.

STEP 2: Glue Preparation

Snow Covered Winter Wreath Tutorial - Glue PrepBefore starting any messy craft project, it is always a good idea to protect the work surface.  This can be done by placing newspaper, craft paper, or a dollar store table cloth atop the table.

After protecting the table, pour a generous amount of glue onto a plastic or paper plate.

STEP 3: Prepare Snow

Snow Covered Winter Wreath Tutorial - Prepare SnowTo make it easier to sprinkle the faux snow, pour some into a bowl.

STEP 4: Apply Glue

Snow Covered Winter Wreath Tutorial - Apply GlueDip the paintbrush into the glue and gently apply the glue on a few branches.  Do only a few branches at a time because you don't want the glue to dry before applying the artificial snow.

STEP 5: Apply Snow & Continue

Snow Covered Winter Wreath Tutorial - Add Snow Sprinkle faux snow over the branches that you just glued.  Shake the branches lightly to get off the excess snow.  Continue applying glue and snow until you have the desired coverage.  You can add as much or as little snow as you want.

After the wreath is the way you like, let the wreath dry completely before moving on.

STEP 6: Decorate Wreath

Snow Covered Winter Wreath Tutorial - Close Up Bottle Brush The easiest way to attach decorations to the wreath is with a hot glue gun.  Play around with the decoration until you have the desired appearance.  Then, attach the decorations with hot glue.

STEP 7: Hanger (Optional)

Snow Covered Winter Wreath Tutorial - Close Up BackDepending on where you are going to display the wreath, you may want to add a ribbon hanger.

To add a ribbon hanger, decide on the length.  Join the two ends of the ribbon together by tying a knot.  So the knot does not show, hot glue it to the back of the wreath.

STEP 8: Bow

Simply hot glue the bow to the wreath.

I must admit I was thrilled with the wreath results.
