To make this project you will need:
* Patriotic Fabric cut into 5" squares
* Heat 'n Bond
* Ribbon
* Glue Gun and extra glue sticks

Patriotic Star Garland

For my star garland, I selected this "Patriotic Picnic" charm pack which is 5" squares. It has a lot of fun and patriotic fabrics in it and the 5" size is perfect for this project.

If you would rather more uniform stars, then pick two contrasting fabrics to use. You can use as few or as many fabrics as you like.

I show how to make the stars in the video above. But, if you would prefer written photo tutorial, please click the image below to go to our page on the "Fabric Snowflake". The assembly is the same.

This is my finished star. I made 4 stars from the patriotic fabrics.

Once you have the stars assembled, the next step is to put them onto a ribbon to hang. I cut a piece of ribbon around 70" long. This gives 15" between each star and about 10" on each end.

Cut a small slit in one of the star points on each star so that the ribbon can be inserted through the slit. Thread the ribbon through the slit and leave about 10" of ribbon. Tie the ribbon around the star so it will be held in place.

Thread the next star onto the ribbon. Measure about 15" between the stars and tie the 2nd star in place. Repeat for the 3rd and 4th stars.
